Product code: P13385
This selenium yeast contains 0.2-0.26% Selenium. It is made by fermenting the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae in a selenium rich medium (sodium selenite).
The process means that selenomethionine becomes part of the yeast protein; it is the same organic form of selenium produced by food chain autotrophs. It is therefore considered to be a more 'natural' form of selenium.
Dosing
The reference intake for selenium is 55µg and the EU proposed upper limit is 300µg.
Therefore, if you are wanting 55µg (100% of reference intake) of selenium, based on the minimum selenium content of 0.2%, you would require 27.5mg of the ingredient.
